On the final day, the helicopter takes you from Hotel Everest View over Everest Base Camp and lands at Kala Patthar (5,545 m / 18,192 ft). From Kala Patthar, you can see Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan peaks before flying back to Kathmandu.

This is not a complete 5-day trek to Everest Base Camp. The itinerary combines a shorter trek with helicopter travel so you can experience the Khumbu and see Everest Base Camp from the air without completing the full trekking route to EBC.

Itinerary

Everest Base Camp Tour 5 Days Detailed Itinerary

This 5-day itinerary combines trekking through the lower Khumbu with a helicopter experience in the high Everest region. You walk from Lukla through Phakding and Namche Bazaar to Hotel Everest View, before flying over Everest Base Camp, landing at Kala Patthar, and returning to Kathmandu by helicopter.

This Itinerary is reviewed and finalized for each trekking season by Senior Guide Ganesh Adhikari (Prakash), based on current trail conditions, local logistics, and the practical experience of leading trips in the Everest region.

Important Flight Note: During January, February, June, July, and August, helicopter landings at Kala Patthar may not be permitted in some circumstances due to weather, operational, or aviation safety restrictions. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) may restrict or not allow landings at Kala Patthar when conditions do not meet the required safety standards. The helicopter may therefore fly over the Everest region without landing at Kala Patthar.

Day 1 - Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

Kathmandu → Ramechhap/Manthali or Kathmandu → Lukla → Phakding

Starting Point: Kathmandu
Flight: Kathmandu or Ramechhap to Lukla
Lukla Elevation: 2,860 m / 9,383 ft
Final Destination: Phakding
Phakding Elevation: 2,610 m / 8,563 ft
Walking Distance: Approximately 7–8 km
Walking Duration: 3–4 hours
Accommodation: Teahouse / Lodge
Meals: Lunch and Dinner

Your Everest journey begins with a flight to Lukla (2,860 m / 9,383 ft). Outside the busy trekking periods, flights can operate directly from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. During peak spring and autumn trekking seasons, Lukla flights are generally operated from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap, requiring an early morning road transfer from Kathmandu before the short flight to Lukla. Current 2026 schedules place the main peak-season windows around March–May and late September–November, although the exact operating arrangements can change with aviation schedules and weather.

After landing at Lukla, you begin your trek toward Phakding with your guide and porter. Your guide will meet you in Kathmandu before the flight, while the porter joins you in Lukla for the trekking portion of the journey. The trail passes through small Sherpa settlements, stone walls, suspension bridges, and forested sections along the Dudh Koshi Valley. The walk is relatively short, giving you time to settle into the mountain environment before the longer climb toward Namche Bazaar.

Along the Trail:

Lukla, Chaurikharka, Ghat, Phakding

Natural Features:

Pine and rhododendron forests, mountain streams, and sections alongside the Dudh Koshi River.

Himalayan Views:

The lower Khumbu landscape begins to open up as you move deeper into the valley, with mountain views appearing between the forested sections.

Today's Challenge:

The walking is not particularly long, but the early flight, changing altitude, and first day on the trail can make it feel demanding. Keep a steady pace and use the afternoon to rest in Phakding.

Altitude Note:

Phakding sits at 2,610 m, so your first night is already above 2,500 m. Stay hydrated and let your guide know if you feel unwell.

Guide Tip:

Keep your daypack light and carry water where it is easy to reach. There is no need to rush on the first day, so focus on finding a comfortable walking rhythm.

Day 2 - Phakding to Namche Bazar

Phakding → Monjo → Jorsale → Namche Bazaar

Starting Point: Phakding
Final Destination: Namche Bazaar
Namche Elevation: 3,440 m / 11,286 ft
Walking Distance: Approximately 10–11 km
Walking Duration: 5–6 hours
Accommodation: Teahouse / Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After breakfast in Phakding, you continue north along the Dudh Koshi River toward Namche Bazaar. The trail passes through small settlements and forested sections before reaching Monjo, where the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park is located.

From Monjo, the trail continues through Jorsale and follows the river toward the famous suspension bridges of the Khumbu. After crossing the Hillary Suspension Bridge, the trail begins a sustained uphill climb toward Namche Bazaar. As you gain elevation, the surroundings become more mountainous, and the first views of Mount Everest and other major peaks may appear if the weather is clear.

Along the Trail:

Monjo, Jorsale, Hillary Suspension Bridge, Namche Bazaar

Natural Features:

Pine and rhododendron forests, the Dudh Koshi River, rocky trails, and suspension bridges.

Himalayan Views:

Clear weather can reveal Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Thamserku as you approach Namche.

Today's Challenge:

The final climb into Namche is the most demanding part of the day. The trail rises steadily after Jorsale, so maintaining a slow and consistent pace is important.

Altitude Note:

You sleep at 3,440 m, a significant increase from Phakding. Follow your guide's advice, stay hydrated, and pay attention to how you feel as you gain altitude.

Guide Tip:

Take your time on the climb to Namche. Short, regular breaks are better than pushing hard and tiring yourself early.

Day 3 - Namche Bazaar to Thame and Return to Namche

Namche Bazaar → Thame → Namche Bazaar

Today, you leave the main Everest Base Camp trail and walk toward Thame, a quieter settlement in the Khumbu known for its Sherpa heritage and mountain setting. The trail climbs gradually through open hillsides and traditional villages, offering a different side of the Everest region away from the busier route toward Tengboche and Everest Base Camp.

Thame is closely associated with several renowned Sherpa mountaineers and sits in a valley surrounded by high Himalayan terrain. After spending time in the village, you retrace the trail to Namche Bazaar for your second night in the area.

Along the Trail:

Namche Bazaar, Thamo, Thame

Natural Features:

Open mountain slopes, alpine vegetation, streams, and the rugged landscape of the Bhote Koshi Valley.

Himalayan Views:

The trail toward Thame offers views of Kusum Kanguru and Thamserku, along with the surrounding peaks of the Khumbu. The changing perspective from the Thame Valley makes this a different mountain experience from the main Everest Base Camp route.

Today's Challenge:

The trail involves steady uphill and downhill sections rather than one long climb. The return walk to Namche can feel tiring, particularly after gaining altitude.

Altitude Note:

Today's highest point is around 3,800 m, but you return to Namche at 3,440 m to sleep. Spending the night lower than your highest walking point helps limit the elevation gain at bedtime.

Guide Tip:

Keep a comfortable pace on the way to Thame and save some energy for the return to Namche. This is also a good day to observe how your body is responding to the altitude before going higher.

Day 4 - Trek to Everest View Hotel (3,880m)

Namche Bazaar → Syangboche → Khumjung → Hotel Everest View

Starting Point: Namche Bazaar
Final Destination: Hotel Everest View
Sleeping Altitude: 3,880 m / 12,730 ft
Highest Altitude: 3,880 m / 12,730 ft
Walking Distance: Approximately 5–6 km
Walking Duration: 2–3 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Accommodation: Hotel Everest View
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Overnight: Hotel Everest View

You leave Namche Bazaar today for a shorter walk through the scenic villages of Syangboche and Khumjung. In Khumjung, you can visit the school established with support from the Himalayan Trust, founded by Sir Edmund Hillary, and stop at the local monastery, which is known for its traditional religious artifacts and the Yeti scalp displayed there.

From Khumjung, the trail continues toward Hotel Everest View at 3,880 m (12,730 ft). The hotel is known for its elevated position and wide views of the Everest region. You can spend the afternoon relaxing with a hot tea while looking toward Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding peaks, with time to rest before the next day's helicopter flight.

Along the Trail:

Namche Bazaar, Syangboche, Khumjung, Hotel Everest View

Natural Features:

Open hillsides, alpine vegetation, and panoramic mountain landscapes above Namche.

Himalayan Views:

Clear weather can reveal Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, and Kusum Kanguru along the route and from Hotel Everest View.

Today's Challenge:

The walking distance is relatively short, but you are sleeping at 3,880 m. The gradual climb from Namche still requires a comfortable pace.

Altitude Note:

Take the afternoon slowly after reaching Hotel Everest View and stay hydrated. Tomorrow's helicopter landing at Kala Patthar will take you to 5,545 m, so a good night's rest is important.

Guide Tip:

Keep the afternoon relaxed and use the time to prepare for the next day's helicopter flight. Your guide can also help you understand the timing and arrangements for the morning departure.

Day 5 - Hotel Everest View to Kala Patthar and Helicopter Return to Kathmandu

Hotel Everest View → Everest Base Camp Flyover → Kala Patthar → Kathmandu

Starting Point: Hotel Everest View
Final Destination: Kathmandu
Helicopter Landing: Kala Patthar
Kala Patthar Elevation: 5,545 m / 18,192 ft
Everest Base Camp: 5,364 m / 17,598 ft
Flight Duration: Approximately 1–2 hours, depending on flight conditions
Walking Distance: No trekking
Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast at Hotel Everest View, you begin the final part of the journey by helicopter. The flight takes you toward the high Everest region, passing over Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m (17,598 ft) before landing at Kala Patthar at 5,545 m (18,192 ft). From the landing point, you have time to take in the views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

After a short stop around 10 to 15 minutes stop at Kala Patthar, you fly back toward Kathmandu by helicopter. The return flight gives you another aerial view of the Khumbu landscape before the tour ends in Kathmandu.

Along the Flight:

Hotel Everest View, Khumbu Glacier, Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, Kathmandu

Himalayan Views:

Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and other peaks of the Everest region.

Today’s Challenge:

The helicopter lands at 5,545 m, so the time at Kala Patthar is kept short. Follow your guide's instructions and avoid unnecessary physical activity at altitude.

Altitude Note:

Kala Patthar is the highest point of the trip at 5,545 m / 18,192 ft. You do not trek to Everest Base Camp on this day. The helicopter flies over EBC before continuing to Kala Patthar.

Guide Tip:

Keep your warm layers and essential items accessible during the flight. Mountain weather can change quickly, and the helicopter schedule may depend on visibility and flight conditions.

Helicopter flights depend on clear weather at altitude more so than fixed-wing Lukla flights, since Kala Patthar landings require better visibility margins. Build one buffer day into your Kathmandu return flight, and know that Day 4 may occasionally shift by a day if conditions don't clear.

Private departures available on any date year-round, subject to helicopter availability. Fixed group departures run weekly during peak season (March–May, September–November).

Safety & Altitude

Safety & Altitude

Altitude and Acclimatization

The trekking route takes you from Lukla at 2,860 m (9,383 ft) to Namche Bazaar at 3,440 m (11,286 ft) and then to Hotel Everest View at 3,880 m (12,730 ft).

This is a short itinerary and does not include a separate acclimatization day. For this reason, the walking pace is kept comfortable, and your guide will pay attention to how you are responding to the increasing altitude.

The helicopter then takes you to Kala Patthar at 5,545 m (18,192 ft). Because you reach this elevation by air rather than through several days of trekking, you should expect the conditions to feel significantly different from those at Hotel Everest View.

Do not ignore symptoms such as persistent headache, dizziness, unusual weakness, nausea, difficulty walking, or breathing problems. Tell your guide immediately if you feel unwell.

Helicopter Flight Safety

The helicopter portion of the tour is subject to aviation regulations, weather conditions, visibility, wind, and operational requirements. The pilot has the final authority over whether a flight, landing, or continuation of the planned route can safely take place.

The helicopter does not land at Everest Base Camp. It flies over Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m (17,598 ft) and continues to Kala Patthar, where a landing is attempted only when conditions are suitable.

Kala Patthar Landing Safety

A landing at 5,545 m (18,192 ft) requires suitable weather, visibility, wind conditions, and operating conditions at the landing site.

During January, February, June, July, and August, a Kala Patthar landing may not be permitted in some circumstances. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) may restrict or not allow high-altitude landings when the required safety conditions are not met.

If a Kala Patthar landing cannot safely take place, the helicopter may fly over the Everest region without landing or adjust the flight plan according to the conditions.

Personal Responsibility at High Altitude

Your preparation also plays an important role in safety. Walk at a steady pace, drink enough water, eat regularly, get adequate rest, and tell your guide about any symptoms as soon as they appear.

Do not take medication to hide symptoms and continue walking without first discussing the situation with your guide or a medical professional.

Follow Your Guide's Instructions

The Everest Base Camp Tour is designed around changing mountain conditions, so the exact timing of walking and helicopter activities can sometimes change. Follow your guide's instructions at trail crossings, suspension bridges, helicopter landing areas, and during changes in weather.

Our priority is to complete the experience without taking unnecessary risks. If weather, altitude, trail conditions, or aviation restrictions require a change to the planned itinerary, safety takes priority over the original schedule.

Food and Accommodation

What You’ll Eat & Where You’ll Stay

Teahouse rooms are generally simple and comfortable, with beds, mattresses, blankets, and basic furnishings. Bathrooms may be shared or private depending on the accommodation. Hotel Everest View provides a more comfortable mountain stay before your helicopter flight to the high Everest region.

Accommodation

The tour includes 4 nights of accommodation in teahouses, lodges, and Hotel Everest View.

  • Phakding: Local teahouse or lodge
  • Namche Bazaar: Local teahouse or lodge
  • Namche Bazaar: Local teahouse or lodge

Drinking Water

  • Filtered or treated drinking water
  • Boiled water at teahouses
  • Bottled water
  • Water refill stations where available
  • Hot water for drinking, depending on the lodge

Training & Preparation

You do not need technical mountaineering training for this tour, but you should be comfortable walking for several hours on uneven and uphill terrain. The trekking days are relatively short, but the altitude and repeated ascents can make walking more demanding than the distance suggests.

For preparation:

  • Walk regularly for 4 to 6 weeks before the trip.
  • Include uphill walks, stairs, or hiking in your training.
  • Build up to 4 to 6 hours of comfortable walking.
  • Strengthen your legs with squats, lunges, and step-ups.
  • Carry a daypack during some training walks.
  • Use the trekking shoes you plan to take on the trip before arriving in Nepal.
  • Practice walking at a steady pace rather than trying to walk quickly.
  • Prioritize sleep, hydration, and adequate meals before and during the trek.
  • Pack light and keep your main duffel within the recommended weight limit.

You do not need previous high-altitude trekking experience, but a reasonable level of fitness will make the walking sections more comfortable. The helicopter portion takes you to a much higher elevation than the trekking route, so your guide will monitor the situation and the flight will only proceed when conditions are suitable.

Best Guides I Could Ever Ask For

Guide Ajit is well-versed and knows the precise details of what it takes to do a successful trek in the mountains of Nepal. Only an experienced guide will tell you to take the safer wall side of a narrow trail when mules are carrying heavy loads through the same path. He collaborated with Ram to ensure a smooth trip for all of us. I'm also thankful that I was grouped with some of the most amazing people (fellow trekkers) on the trek.

Although the teahouses on the trail are basic, Sublime Trails did their best to make us comfortable throughout. I certainly rate them an A+ to do a trek in the Everest region and the mountains of Nepal.

Everest View Trek with my two teen sons. Enjoyed the trip to the fullest.

My two sons wanted to visit Nepal as they had one guy from Nepal in the classroom. He told them that Nepal has the highest mountain in the world. So, in Spring, we went to Nepal and decided to go on a helicopter tour. But, it was off the charts for me to afford a trip to all three. So we decided to go Namche, see Everest and other mountains and make a safe return.
There was one group from sublime trails who were going for Everest view trek. We three went with that group. I loved every place. Also, returning trekkers were not hesitant to chat with us. We saw Everest from the Hotel Everest View. It was a good experience. Thumbs up to the best service. My sons enjoyed this trip very much.

Hotel Everest View, Breakfast, Trek to Namche, and my inspiring Everest View Trek

We had a family trip to Namche Bazar and to Everest View Hotel. Even though we didn't trek
to Everest, we went to 3,880 meters to see every mountain in the Everest region.

The flight to Lukla was thrilling. Trek to Monjo, Namche was the best. A day at Namche and
climbing to the hotel was the best experience. My son enjoyed the trip very much.
Sublime Trails and Mr. Ram was amazing. They were fantastic in service and also were true
professionals. Loved everything. Loved every bit of the trek.

Know Everything Before You Go Everest Base Camp Tour 5 Days

Trail and Local Culture

The trail passes through Sherpa settlements, Buddhist monasteries, chortens, mani walls, and prayer wheels. Walk around mani walls and chortens in a clockwise direction and ask before photographing people or religious sites.

The trail is also used by porters, trekkers, local residents, and pack animals. Give way where appropriate and follow your guide's instructions to help keep the trail safe and respectful for everyone.

Baggage and Porter Arrangements

Lukla flights have a 15 kg baggage allowance per person, including hand luggage. For easier handling during the trek, we recommend keeping your main duffel around 12 to 13 kg and carrying essential items in a small daypack.

One porter carries up to 25 kg for two trekkers. Your porter joins the group in Lukla, while your guide meets you in Kathmandu before the Lukla flight.

Keep your passport, money, electronics, medication, camera, sunglasses, water, and other items you may need during the day in your daypack rather than in your main luggage.

Cash and Spending in the Khumbu

Most major trip arrangements are included in the package, but you should carry Nepalese rupees for personal expenses during the trek. Around US$150 to US$200 in Nepalese rupees is a practical amount for drinks, snacks, charging, Wi-Fi, small purchases, and other personal expenses. Keep your tip money separate.

ATMs are available in places such as Lukla and Namche Bazaar, but network or machine problems can occur. It is better to withdraw most of the cash you expect to use before travelling farther into the Khumbu rather than relying entirely on ATMs along the trail.

Everest Base Camp from the Air

The helicopter section gives you an aerial view of Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Glacier rather than a landing at the base camp itself.

This distinction is important when comparing Everest helicopter tours. On this itinerary, the helicopter flies over Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m (17,598 ft) and then continues to Kala Patthar, where it lands at 5,545 m (18,192 ft) when conditions permit.

From Kala Patthar, clear weather can provide views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and other peaks of the Khumbu.

Connectivity and Charging

Mobile network coverage varies along the Everest trail, with stronger connectivity around larger settlements such as Namche Bazaar and weaker service in more remote areas.

Teahouses and lodges may offer Wi-Fi and charging facilities, usually for an additional fee. A power bank is useful, especially when travelling with a phone, camera, or other rechargeable equipment.

Best Time for the 5-Day Everest Base Camp Tour

March to May and September to November are generally the preferred seasons for this tour. These periods usually offer good conditions for trekking in the lower Khumbu and better visibility for mountain views and helicopter flights.

The winter months can be much colder, while the monsoon months from June to August can bring rain, clouds and reduced visibility. Since the final day includes a high-altitude helicopter flight, weather conditions can affect the planned schedule at any time of year.

Lukla Flight and Ramechhap Transfer

The Lukla flight is one of the parts of the itinerary most affected by weather and airport operations. Depending on the season and current flight arrangements, flights may operate from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or Manthali Airport in Ramechhap.

During busy trekking periods, flights are generally operated from Ramechhap. When this applies, you will need an early morning road transfer from Kathmandu to Manthali before the flight to Lukla.

Because both the Lukla flight and the return helicopter depend on suitable conditions, it is sensible to keep some flexibility in your travel schedule.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Basic Trek Information

Can I do this tour if I have no trekking experience at all?

Yes, the two trekking days to Namche are moderate, not strenuous, and are well within reach of a reasonably active person with no prior high-altitude experience.

What is the cost of a 5 days Everest Base Camp Tour?

The current price for the 5-day Everest Base Camp Tour is US$2,400 per person. The price includes the trekking and helicopter arrangements listed in the inclusions. Private departures and customized arrangements may have different prices.

Is the 5-day Everest Base Camp Tour a full trek to Everest Base Camp?

No. The 5-day Everest Base Camp Tour is not a full walking trek to Everest Base Camp. You trek from Lukla to Phakding and Namche Bazaar, visit Thame, and continue to Hotel Everest View. On the final day, a helicopter takes you over Everest Base Camp and to Kala Patthar before returning to Kathmandu.

This format combines a short Everest trek with a helicopter experience, allowing you to experience the Khumbu trail and the high Everest region in five days.

What is the difference between the 5-day EBC Tour and the regular Everest Base Camp Trek?

The main difference is the amount of trekking and the way you return from the high Everest region.

A regular Everest Base Camp Trek involves several days of walking from Lukla to Everest Base Camp and then descending on foot. This 5-day tour includes a shorter trek to the Namche and Hotel Everest View area, followed by a helicopter flight over Everest Base Camp and a landing at Kala Patthar when conditions allow.

Does the guide travel with me from Kathmandu?

Your guide meets you in Kathmandu before the Lukla flight and accompanies you during the trekking section.

The porter joins you in Lukla, where the trekking portion begins.

Trek Difficulty and Fitness

How difficult is the 5-day Everest Base Camp Tour?

The tour is rated Moderate. The trekking section includes several hours of walking on uneven mountain trails, uphill and downhill sections, suspension bridges, and an increase in altitude from Lukla to Hotel Everest View.

You do not need technical mountaineering skills, but you should have a reasonable level of fitness and be comfortable walking for several hours a day.

Can beginners do the 5-day Everest Base Camp Tour?

People with a reasonable level of fitness can take part without previous Everest trekking experience. However, this is still a high-altitude trip. The trekking days require steady walking, and the helicopter landing at Kala Patthar takes you above 5,500 m.

Your guide will monitor your condition during the trekking section, and you should report any symptoms of altitude illness immediately.

Health and Safety

Is this tour suitable for children or older travelers?

We accept trekkers aged 12 and above. For older travelers or anyone with health considerations, this itinerary's reduced trekking demand often makes it a better fit than our longer treks — but a pre-trip health conversation with our team is worth having either way.

Booking, Groups & Trip Planning

What is the best time for the 5-day Everest Base Camp Tour?

The main trekking seasons are spring, from March to May, and autumn, from September to November. These periods generally provide better conditions for trekking and mountain views.

The helicopter portion remains dependent on weather and flight conditions regardless of the season.

Can I book the 5-day EBC Tour as a solo traveler?

The itinerary is arranged as a private trip, so you can enquire about the tour based on your travel plans. The helicopter arrangement and overall cost can vary depending on the number of travelers and flight arrangement.

Luggage, Gear & Personal Comfort

What is the baggage allowance for the Lukla flight?

The Lukla flight baggage allowance is 15 kg per person, including hand luggage.

We recommend keeping your main duffel around 12 to 13 kg so you have some flexibility for your daypack and flight requirements.

How much weight can the porter carry?

One porter carries up to 25 kg shared between two trekkers.

Your porter joins the group in Lukla, while you carry a smaller daypack with the personal items you need during the day.

Flight & Route Details

What happens if the helicopter can't fly on Day 4 due to weather?

We rebook the next available weather window, which may push your return to Kathmandu back a day. This is why we recommend a buffer day in your onward international flight.

Does the helicopter land at Everest Base Camp?

No. The helicopter does not land at Everest Base Camp on this itinerary. It flies over Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m (17,598 ft) and then continues toward Kala Patthar.

The planned landing is at Kala Patthar at 5,545 m (18,192 ft), subject to weather, visibility, wind, operational conditions, and aviation safety requirements.

Does the 5-day tour include a Kala Patthar landing?

Yes. A Kala Patthar landing is included in the planned itinerary, subject to suitable flight and weather conditions.

The landing cannot be guaranteed when high-altitude weather or aviation conditions are unsuitable. If a landing is not permitted, the helicopter may fly over the Everest region without landing at Kala Patthar.

Can I see Everest Base Camp from the helicopter?

Yes. The helicopter flies over the Everest Base Camp area and provides an aerial view of the camp, Khumbu Glacier, surrounding terrain, and nearby Himalayan peaks.

The flight then continues toward Kala Patthar, where you can get a closer ground-level view of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountains if the landing is possible.

Is Kala Patthar accessible throughout the year?

A Kala Patthar landing is not guaranteed throughout the year. Weather, wind, visibility, operational conditions, and aviation safety requirements determine whether the helicopter can safely land.

During January, February, June, July, and August, a landing may not be permitted in some circumstances. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal may restrict high-altitude helicopter landings when safety requirements are not met.
