Under Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) flight safety regulations, an aircraft’s allowable payload is dynamically calculated based on density altitude, temperature, fuel requirements, and operating conditions.

For this reason, flights carrying up to 5 passengers (around 450 kg combined payload) from Kathmandu to Lukla and Pheriche must reduce their operating weight to approximately 240–250 kg for the upper Kala Patthar sector. Groups of 3 or more passengers will pause at our Pheriche staging point to divide into smaller shuttle turns (2 to 3 passengers per turn) to complete the flight safely. If you are waiting for your turn at Pheriche, you will have plenty of time to step outside, stretch your legs, and photograph the stark alpine valley scenery.
